Partnership Central Asia

03.07.2023

Tashkent Museum

With signing a protocol in June 2021, the Department IPEA, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, and Westminster International University in Tashkent have established common ground for joint initiatives and forthcoming collaborations.

The primary objective of this partnership is to foster closer ties with the Central Asian region and establish new avenues for academic exchange across various domains. This collaboration aims to enrich the realms of teaching, learning, research, and discovery missions. It seeks to enhance mutual interactions between the two universities, offering diverse collaborative opportunities for both faculty and students.

The scope of activities encompasses short and long-term faculty exchanges, as well as undergraduate and graduate student exchanges. Additionally, the collaboration involves joint research projects, shared learning and teaching endeavors, and the development of mutually agreed-upon educational or research programs. Through these initiatives, both institutions strive to expand their academic horizons and promote cross-cultural understanding.

In May 2022, Ms. Johanna Rust participated as a speaker in the Central Asian Law forum held in Tashkent. Currently, plans are underway to reciprocate this invitation by organising a visit of a WIUT delegation to Bochum, in collaboration with the International Office at RUB.
